We have announced today that our pantomime Dick Whittington has been postponed until January 2022.

The production was set to run between Friday 22nd January and Saturday 30th January 2021 and we are very grateful to everybody who has already purchased their tickets in eager anticipation of what was sure to be another fantastic year for Ashford’s annual family pantomime.

During the year the usual preparations have still been taking place in readiness for the show and up until a few weeks ago the team at Ashford Theatre Society were still very hopeful that we may be able to find a way to stage the production safely in 2021. However with the recent lockdown announcement and ongoing restrictions of social distancing limiting our rehearsals and construction processes, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone this season’s pantomime production until January 2022.

Chairman of Ashford Theatre Society, Alan Stamp, said: “We’ve waited a long time to make our final decision because not only do we love producing the shows each year, we know how much our audiences love their yearly visit to see our pantomime. We really didn’t want to come to terms with postponing something that means so much to us and our community.”

Dick Whittington will now be staged from Friday 21st January 2022 to Saturday 29th January 2022 and audiences can expect a fantastic show that will bring back our love of community family pantomime in the best possible way.

If you have already purchased tickets for Dick Whittington then we will automatically transfer your seats to the equivalent day next year. This will guarantee your seats for the pantomime and continue to support your local community theatre group. Alternatively, if you would prefer to receive a refund instead then please let us know using the contact form (linked to below) before Monday 21st December 2020. Please note that refunds will be processed as quickly as possible and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the ticket vendor where you purchased your tickets.
